We are a tattoo and piercing studio based in Kozhikode (Calicut), Kerala, since 2019. Shyam CK, the founder and lead artist at Skarcode, is primarily interested in creating custom designs and tattoos for those in need.

Tattooing has been practiced across the globe since at least Neolithic times. Even at 3000 BC, our ancestors were obsessed with tattoos. Most people have their own unique motive for getting inked. Every tattoo has a story to tell.

Many people decide to get a tattoo to express their fondness for artistic nature, their beliefs, and their deep-lying emotions.

It can be a sign of fashion, an expression of individuality, or a mixture of all three.

Life itself is the biggest emotional rollercoaster; everyone has their own rides, ups and downs, and emotional gateways. Just like that, everyone has their own story to tell and unique life experiences. Some stories have already been written; they are forced to follow what has been written; others defy the rules and demonstrate the courage to write their own life story.

After the educational cycle, life has become a bit more challenging and interesting. Working for 8–10 hours at an engineering company was fun. One day, after a long late-night shift in a deep dreamy sleep, I saw my younger self happy and smiling soulfully, and a 9-year-old boy was holding a sketch he had drawn.

From that day on, I started thinking of doing something new, where I could live and explore the journey to the fullest. Leaving my job and embarking on a passionate artistic journey was the best decision I've ever made.

I've been to Goa for a while, where big things happened, and the most challenging days were driven by the passion inside.

I will be eternally grateful for the influence of friends and the support of family.

I met new people and talked about things, not people; every day felt like something new.

Archana, a tattoo artist based in Goa, is the one who triggered the enlightenment in me; she was more like a mentor.
